Our story
Our story in El Calafate began before El Calafate officially became a town.
A story of family, land, and roads that still welcomes those who come to discover Patagonia.
A local root
From a small farm to the place we now call home.
Family accounts and local memory place the Zupics in the Argentino Lake region from El Calafate’s earliest years. It was a Patagonia of ranches, small farms, difficult roads, and a few families building their lives by the lake.
Over time, the family worked the land and became part of the everyday life of a town that was just beginning to grow.
At home, we always learned that whoever arrives is welcomed like a friend.
Five moments
A story that keeps moving.
This is not a family tree. It is the journey that connects our family to the way we accompany each traveller today.

The early years
Before the town.
The family arrived in a region still organised around ranches, rural work, and Argentino Lake. El Calafate was officially founded in 1927.
- 02
The farm and dairy
Making a life on this land.
The family farm was part of that productive area: crops, animals, and a dairy that forms part of local historical memory. The Zupic Dairy has been recognised as El Calafate heritage.

Memory of a pioneer
A name that remained in town.
Antuco Bridge commemorates Antonio Pedro “Antuco” Zupic, recognised by the local council for his founding work. Streets still carry family names, too.

My childhood
El Calafate was not a destination: it was my home.
I grew up playing on my grandfather’s farm, watching the winters, the lake rise, and nature that was always close by. That is the experience I share when someone asks me about this place.

Today
Welcoming travellers differently.
Nearly a century later, part of that same story found tourism. First by welcoming guests, and then by helping people organise questions, transfers, and experiences so each trip makes sense.

Images that keep a story alive.
Photographs that bring us closer to the memory of a family connected to this land and its people.
The story continues
My family made El Calafate their home. I want to help you feel a little at home when you come.
We do not want to decide for you. We want to listen, show you the options, and help you choose with a local person on this side.
